About Us

At Jonathan Partridge Optometrists we a family run business in the heart of Welshpool, founded by Jonathan and Beverley in April 1990. With the help of various tradesmen and friends we gutted, renovated and redecorated a Grade II listed building, which was our first premises. Obtaining the building next door in 1996, we expanded the practice to have a downstairs consulting room.

In October 2015, after over a year of planning, we finally moved to our new purpose built premises on Church Street, which has allowed us to expand the range of services that we can offer.

Jonathan graduated from Aston University and came third in the country for his outstanding performance in the Professional Qualifying Examinations winning the Colebrook Prize. He also held additional qualifications in Glaucoma and Medical Retina.

Beverley is a qualified Dispensing Optician graduating from Anglia Ruskin Cambridge University and came first, winning the award for best performance within Ophthalmic Dispensing.

Although we tragically lost one of our inspirational founders, Jonathan, in July 2019, he would be proud that his values and the practice itself are continuing with two further family members.

Our nephew Tom joined the team in 2016 as an Optometrist accredited to provide emergency services.

Now, excitingly, Jonathan's son Joseph, who graduated from Cardiff with a First Class Honours degree, has joined as an Optometrist and along with Tom and Beverley we are more of a family business than ever! We promise to continue providing our knowledgeable and friendly services to the local community and we thank you all for your continuing support.

Our ethos has always been to strive to be the best, both in terms of our abilities as eye specialists and to always invest in the very best technology to support this.
